I wander around the wilderness behind the house every day, almost. I take a lot of photos of mushrooms, wildflowers, insects, leaves and anything else in nature, especially unusual or seldom noticed things. The wilderness is located in the northeast corner of Alabama. It's on the Cumberland Plateau, which is toward the southern end of the Appalachian Mountains.

It's a bird, it's a plane, what else?
Today has been cold in North Alabama and likely getting colder.
The pond had some ice and a litttle snow on top of the ice.
It's a bird.
It's a plane.
It's two clumps of mistletoe high in an old scaly bark hickory tree.
It's a giant red orb burning its way down through trees on the horizon.
